This picture is of three Abercrombie & Fitch in-store models "advertising" clothes. The models are all young, caucasian, and TV Pretty (they are what the media perceives to be attractive). The two males are shirtless, sporting their toned abs and pelvic regions. The woman is blonde, thin, and (who knew) wearing pink.
I believe this look is "in" because it seems that the current look is to be young, pretty(or handsome), and white (no offense). It's popular because Americans are easily amused individuals who want to look at pretty faces with curvy bodies, and sexy men with rock-hard abs. People buy the fashion more because they think if they wear the clothing, they'll look more like the models they see wearing it (either in-store or in the media). This clothing is also popular because people may want to fit in with the rest of the crowd. Ironically, Abercrombie & Fitch sends a message of uniqueness while hypocritically making us lose our individuality.
